I reveal the hidden beauty in items I rescue from their one-way trip to the landfill. I use recycled material to create vibrant mosaics which engage the viewer on multiple levels. I delight in re-purposing a pile of discarded credit cards, gas cards, and gift cards to create images that draw the viewer in to discover the details - and then realize in surprise, the materials used. Gift cards are ubiquitous in our society and to cut them apart based upon pattern, color, and texture to create completely new imagery has meaning at multiple levels for me.
